又名:畸零與人/OfFreaksandMen/莫斯科異人寫真剛踏入二十世紀的圣彼得堡,環繞多個角色的故事大綱以一位來自中產階級的女孩子為中心,自小喪母,私下沉迷于情色照片,與一批和販賣情色照片的攝影師纏上了,愛過痛過,最后出走西方《莫斯科異人寫真》對于暴力卻幾乎是輕描淡寫的。問題不在于觀眾看到了什么鏡頭,而是他們沒看到什么。約翰在地下室殺了租房的房東時,以及在工程師屋里殺了醫生時,都是在近距離一拔槍就結果了對方的性命,對巴拉巴諾夫而言,似乎暴力的本質就是如此直截了當的冷酷,沒有一絲拖泥帶水。但冷靜如畫的影像與精準的角色構造中所傳達出來的恐怖,卻是令人不寒而栗的,因為他要講的暴力是發自于深沉的人性與社會結構。相對而言,動作只是輕微的、次要的,而特寫鏡頭的帶出也只是為了遮掩沒有動作的內在暴力。就這一點而言,我們可以說:在電影發展一百年后的世紀末,巴拉巴諾夫意在以具體的藝術抵御影像的墮落。這部影片的拍攝,至少在表現的手法上永遠是獨一無二、不能復制的。

In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
