　　1971年，印度與巴基斯坦之間在東巴解放戰爭之間的緊張局勢日益緊張，巴基斯坦海軍在一個高級秘密任務中計劃襲擊印度雄偉級航空母艦INS Vikrant，以控制孟加拉灣的水域 。 他們派出一流的潛艇PNS Ghazi(加齊號/勇士號)，但被印度潛艇INS Karanj（S21）攔截。 隨后發生水下攻擊。
